Composed of harmonic melodies and deep tones of acoustic guitar, Maryland natives TJ Campos and Terry Honeycutt devised the band, stateofgrace:) in July of 2009. Portraying another side of rock with influences like Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and Incubus, they aimed to give the public something calming but bold to listen to. As self-taught guitarists of over 8 years, TJ and Terry took pride in their independence. Their simplicity and perseverance is showed with great pride in their music. Being a 19 year old musician can present many obstacles, but through it all they continue to hold goals that support the idea that if one has enough drive and patience, anything can be accomplished; including making it in the music industry. In late July of 2009, Terry Honeycutt, who was a United States Marine got his first deployment to Afghanistan. From there, TJ continued stateofgrace:) and planned on having Terry's spot ready when he got back. Within just 2 months of establishing stateofgrace:), TJ's music was available for the public on iTunes [stateofgrace:)]. Experiencing not only the music making and recording process, TJ also set out to manage the advertising for the band, and strives to gain local support by means of online social networks that simply connecting with fans. His work includes collaborations with CJ the Genesis among other well known local artists. He also provides an array of apparel for those wanting to wear their favorite band on their chest. In the fall of 2010, TJ released his first official EP in hopes of satisfying listeners. Much to the dismay of fans, friends, and family, the original drummer of stateofgrace:), LCpl Terry Honeycutt, suffered fatal injuries in Afghanistan and passed away in October. In memorium and respect, the single that featured Honeycutt playing drums, "Another Mourning Alone", was released soon afterwards with partial proceeds donated to the Wounded Warriors Project and the Fisher House Organization. Due in the holiday season of 2010, TJ plans to release a Christmas single to add holiday cheer to the atmosphere.
